<< midohiocon 2005

_ i was seated next to jamie (renewing our college friendship) and these malcontents. wasn't sure if they were set on selling their books or buying stuff. here is the cat who had rigged up a hidden camera (not recording) in his mask. an amusing first which sadly was one of the highlights of the show. moc is definitely a snapshot of the state of the typical comic con. i've seen the 'comicon' drastically change for the worst over a decade's time. (giving up on the chicagocon in the late 90's) anymore it's half about the media has-beens and half about comics. still i've gone almost every year since i've come to columbus. it's in my backyard so why the hell not? i've got a small recap of the weekend on my blog at myspace.

viewfrommytable_(a photo essay)

_i tried to take some candid shots during the show. keeping to a strict rule that i capture no posing. it's tough at a con. seems every time you point your camera some costumed idiot starts posing. i appologize some of the shots are out of focus.

>>

this guy's a regular costumed bloke i've seen at every show from chicago to columbus. sadly i remember him from my days at cord camera. entire rolls of him and his buddies that are burned in my memory.

(below) it's cute when kids put on the 's'. down right creepy when it's adults.
<< who the hell is this guy suppose to be?!

end of the roll: ..and so ends this photo essay on the MOC experience. an analog experience as this was all shot with 35 millimeter Canon Rebel. you can still catch my blog on MOC '05 and also check out fellow panelist's pages- matt and dara. i'll be adding and subtracting as the years go on.
