barring any pre-existing conditions for hire- jobs under $200 require a 40% startup/kill fee up front. comps, sketches, etc. will not begin until these fees have been paid in full. no exceptions. bids usually are based on the client's budget which i will ask you up front. fees are based on turnaround. changes over 20% of the final approved work will incur additional fees. i only do work-for-hire on license properties. (ex. batman) any pitches or proposal art, I require a fee which can be subtracted from the final agreed rate/ royalty payment. any work that is used more than once in print, requires some kind of royalty arrangement. all rights i rarely do, purely conditional.
